Company History

In 1972 Maurice Brewer, as a spin off of his already successful painting and maintenance business in Nashville, Tenn. formed Mid-South Pump Sales & Service. In the early 1970’s Gary True, an engineer with Phillips Petroleum Company worked with Maurice on layout design and construction for new service stations across the state of Tennessee. A friendship developed between the two and they emerged as a team. In late 1971, they saw a need for a quality fuel distributor in Middle Tennessee and surrounding areas and became a distributor for Dresser Wayne Industries out of Austin, Texas.

In 1993 Maurice wanted to devote more of his time to the painting and maintenance business. He sold his shares of the company to Eddie Green and Garland Bissinger, long time employees of Mid-South Pump Sales and Service.

Mid-South Pump grew into a full service petroleum company and a successful business offering installation, a wide selection of parts and equipment as well as excellent service, all at a fair market price.

In 2005, Gary True chose to retire and sold his shares of the company to Eddie and Garland.

In December 2010, Mid-South Sales and Service opened a branch office in Jackson, Tenn. that has expanded our business into Jackson, Memphis and surrounding areas in western Tennessee and northern Mississippi. Luke Woodruff brings more that eight years of petroleum industry experience as the service technician in our Jackson office.

Our company continues to be a diversified petroleum company serving businesses and governmental agencies in Alabama, Kentucky and Tennessee. With almost 40 years of experience we are well suited to handle your every need. Our commitment to excellent service, quality products and competitive prices remains the same as it did in 1972. Times change, but loyalty to our customers has not.
